Cooking with Beer: Celebrating Oktoberfest with Beer Cuisine

Demonstration:
Using the unique flavors of German beers (both ales and lagers) into updated Oktoberfest recipes, this class with excite the palate with creative dishes, playing homage to the German Kitchen. Executive Chef Sean Z. Paxton of Home Brew Chef will teach several techniques focusing on cooking with beer and German style recipes. He will share tips on what to look for when cooking with these German Style beers and how to use them in the kitchen along with how to pair them with different dishes.
Menu:
- Trumer Pils – Paired with a Kartoffel Suppe (Potato Soup) infused with smoked bacon and Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier Urbock
- Laguntias Bavarian-Styled Doppel Weizen – Poured with a Dunkelweizen brined Wiener Schnitzel (local Pork) served with pretzel spätzle, Rotkohl (red cabbage) infused with spices topped with a bier mustard sauce
- Firestone Walker Oaktoberfest – Served with Knockwurst poached in a Shiner Bock, sauerkraut made with cabbage, fennel and carrots, with a smoked onion bier sauce
- Sierra Nevada Kellerweis Hefeweizen – Paired with a Gugelhupf Bierkuchen (German Beer Cake) infused with Bock beer soaked dried fruit and a beer frosting
